Acute Myocardial Infarction Market

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is heart muscle death caused by sudden blockage of a coronary artery. Symptoms include chest pain, shortness of breath, nausea, or sweating. Diagnosis is made with ECG and cardiac markers. Treatment includes antiplatelet and anticoagulant drugs, beta-blockers, statins, nitrates, and reperfusion therapy.

AMI is a leading cause of death in developed countries and is classified as ST-segment elevation MI (STEMI) or non-ST-segment elevation MI (NSTEMI). STEMI requires urgent reperfusion by fibrinolysis, PCI, or CABG, while NSTEMI is treated with PCI or CABG. Unstable angina resembles NSTEMI but without elevated cardiac markers.
